Every parent wants their child to be successful. Every parent wants their child to thrive. They want their kids to love learning and be excited to learn. When parents are concerned about their child falling behind, we ask, “What are your personal goals for you and your child?” Consider what your child does well and what they get excited about.
Use your child’s strengths to improve their weaknesses. For example, many children struggle with reading. Find out what your child is really interested in and encourage them to read about those topics. In many cases, they might be uninterested in the books on the shelves. Try reading different books like comic books or graphic novels. There are other ways to get children engaged. “Falling Behind” really just means your child needs extra support.
